Obituary of Richard Huffman

Huffman, Richard Clarence - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our wonderful father Richard Clarence Huffman who passed away on Monday August 5, 2024 at the age of 63. Richard was a man of great resilience and can be remembered making his loved ones laugh until the very end. He was the loving father of Cory (Alyshia), Taylor (Morel), Logan and Amanda, devoted grandfather to Madison, Landon, Mason, Sunny and Kiara and great grandfather to Azaria. Richard grew up as one of five sons to his parents June Kappler-Huffman and Donald Huffman and his step father Emil Kappler. In his early years, he and his brothers (Kenneth, Carey, Donny and Chris) never shied away from mischief in their hometown of Crystal Beach and were known to never back down from a fight. He was extremely hard-working and sharp and that fighting spirit always remained with him throughout his life. A self-proclaimed “heartthrob”, Richard was known to frequent the local bars whether it was to bartend or spend time with his friends over a game of pool or darts. He had a passion for sports and would never miss a Toronto Maple Leafs or Miami Dolphins game, even when he swore he had given up on them. He was an avid collector of Hockey Cards and other sports memorabilia. Above all other things, Richard loved his kids and grandkids and he would not hesitate to say that they were his greatest achievement in life. He will be greatly missed by each of them and they will proudly carry on his memory. A graveside service will be held on Saturday August 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Ridgeway Memorial Cemetery in Fort Erie, ON.
