Jennifer MacSweyn

Obituary of Jennifer Joanne MacSweyn

MacSweyn, Jennifer Joanne (nee Sherk)

Jennifer passed away peacefully at home with family at the age of 54 on February 3rd, 2024.

Survived by Ken MacSweyn, her loving husband of 35 years. Devoted mother to her two children, Meagan (Aaron) Thompson and Kenny (Hope) MacSweyn. Survived by her mother, Joanne (Conrad) Pierroz. Caring sister of Dave (Janice) Sherk, Jim (Dawn) Sherk, Julie O’Donnell, Larry (Linda) Sherk, and Dan Sherk. Cherished in-law to Bill (Sharon), Richard (Shari), and Jay (Claire) MacSweyn. Beloved grandmother to her two granddaughters, Nora and Rosie Thompson. To be missed by her 16 nieces and nephews, as well as her many cousins. Predeceased by her father and stepmother, Claude and Louise Sherk, as well as in-laws Brad O’Donnell, Billy MacSweyn, and Terri MacSweyn.

Jennifer graciously served others throughout her life and will be remembered as always placing others’ needs above her own. A foundation for her family, she selflessly aided others through life’s challenges with a helping hand, attentive ear, or sound advice. In her 36 years at RBC, Jenn continually cared for her community without expecting anything in return. She will stand in the memories of those who knew her as a living example of Jesus’ call to love others.

We will be reunited with her some day, and she will remain in our hearts forever.

Our gratitude goes to the healthcare staff that cared for Jenn throughout this time: the Walker Family Cancer Center staff, Dr. Che, Dr. Scher, and the nurses at Paramed.

Those who wish to express their condolences, may attend the visitation at Williams Funeral Services, 722 Ridge Rd. N., Ridgeway from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Thursday, February 8th. A private funeral service will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to Camp Kahquah.
