Obituary of Marlene Joyce Schneider

Schneider : Marlene Joyce

After a very brief illness, Marlene passed away with her daughter at her side in the Welland Hospital at the age of 88.  She is reunited with her late husband Raymond and son Keith.  Proud mother of Bob (Georgia) and Kimberly (Mike) Fazio.  Devoted grandmother of Ashton (Brian), Cassie, Miles, Kaitlyn (Brad) and Michael.  Marlene’s eyes lit up at the mention of her great grandson Kevin Robert.  She is also survived by brother Arthur (Gerry) Cross and a large and loving extended family that includes her niece Cheryl Porter who provided wonderful care and enjoyed many card games with Marlene.  Predeceased by her brothers William and Stanley and sister Joan.

Marlene worked as a clerk for Willoughby Township and later the Town of Fort Erie.  She met many wonderful and lifelong friends there, including Anne Kline who since retirement enjoyed their Wednesday liquid lunch get togethers at South Coast.   Social activities and community came close second to family in importance.  The Willoughby Firehall Ladies Auxiliary, as well as euchre at the Ridgeway Legion provided opportunities to be involved and be with friends.  While the Toronto Maple Leafs and Blue Jays were her teams and she constantly cheered them on, her biggest encouragement and love were saved for her family.

Williams Funeral Services 722 Ridge Rd. N. Ridgeway entrusted with arrangements.  A private visiting will take place followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Snyder.  If so desired, donations to the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery would be appreciated by the family.
