Obituary of Frederick William Atherton

August 29, 1932 - March 8, 2021

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Fred on Monday, March 8, 2021 in his 89th year. His journey has ended here on earth and he is now rejoicing in the presence of the Lord. Fred will be terribly missed by his loving wife Nancy Beam, by his adored children Liz (Charlie), Edith (Bill), Elaine, late Fred (Cathy), Doug, Larry (late Bonnie), late Steve (Sandy), Lyn (Ken), Brenda (George), Barry (Cheryl), Liza (Dan), and by his precious grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  He is now reunited with his parents and with his siblings Doug, Betty, Marie, and Jack.. 

Fred could always be found reading his favourite bible verses or singing away to anyone would listen. He will be remembered by many close friends, especially those who knew him and his band, Fred and the Poor Folk. Cowboy hat on his head, a Christian tie resting on his chest, Fred loved his Lord and his family with all of his heart. A true gentleman. 

Williams Funeral Services entrusted with arrangements. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at Windmill Point Church, Ridgeway, on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the churchyard cemetery.
