Marilyn Cropp Wall told us about the passing of your mother, Joan McNeil. Accept our sincere condolences. In case you are wondering, Dan is the son of Agnes (Cropp) Quark and
Frederick "Eric" Quayle Quark. Agnes (Cropp) Quark is the daughter of James Lorne Cropp and Agnes (McNeil) Cropp. Dan kinda remembers your dad working for Harry Cropp but he was only a little boy. Dan lives on the Quark farm just 3 miles from Vantage where your mother grew up. We keep in contact with and have a close relationship with the Ken McNeil family and the Larry McNeil family. Two of Larry's sons have worked on our farm. If you have any interest in keeping in contact with us, your distant relatives, we would enjoy a phone number or address to correspond. We are often in Ontario so a stop for coffee might be possible. Also, a visit from you on the farm would be appreciated. Take care as you grieve the loss of your mother.

Joan was a very wonderful part of my teen years and the McNeil family felt like my own. She always took a keen interest in what I was doing, made being at their home a fun experience filled with laughter. She made the best Turkey and Rice ever and thoroughly enjoyed my never ending photo albums. Barb and Alan, my sincerest condolences.

Barb, Alan, so sorry to hear about Joan! So many memories are flooding into my mind. She was wonderful. A great listener, so funny, and practical too. I remember her telling me how she met your Dad. Peter was working for my G,pa Jim Cropp and my Dad( Harry) on our farm in Sask. Joan's friend was dating his friend who was also out west working close by and Joan was talked into going on a blind date with Peter. Well, she said, Who knew it would take ! We got married later and now here we are with kids, and Grandchildren! Another memory is that Peter liked to visit us to go duck/goose hunting and sometimes he would come west with cousin Ken McNeil, sometimes by himself and one time the whole family. I enjoyed sharing rides on my Shetland with Barb & Alan. Later, after Peter passed on , Joan visited by herself and we enjoyed having her visit..she would regal us with family news and funny stories while knitting up a storm. She was a great listener when my Mom was having her health problems and she tried to "Mother" Jeff and I while we were fussing over Joan herself. No Joan you will not carry your suitcase..we will !We enjoyed having her visit.and sharing letters with her. She was a dynamo volunteer and enjoyed hearing about our volunteer projects as well. She had so many stories...Loved history and family history. We will both miss that sweet little woman, Hugs to you across the miles... Your cousins, Marilyn & Jeff in Moose Jaw
