Obituary of Carol Joyce House

House, Carol Joyce Unexpectedly at Hamilton General Hospital on Monday, October 17, 2016, after a brief illness, Carol passed away and is now safe in the arms of Jesus. Carol was born at home on January 31, 1932, cherished daughter of Ada Winger House and Fred G. House. She was a graduate of Hamilton Teachers' College, McMaster University, and Buffalo State University College. She taught school for 36 years in Fort Erie, Port Colborne, Niagara Falls and Etobicoke, much of that time working as an Elementary School Library Specialist. Carol enjoyed her many interests. She was a faithful member of Stevensville United Brethren Church, serving as pianist, Sunday School teacher, and in many other capacities. She was an active member of the Bertie Historical Society, a volunteer pianist in local retirement homes, and beloved leader of the Desperadoes Trivia Team. She loved her pets, travel, music and theatre. Carol was a dear friend and neighbour for 40 years of Ken and Martha Heise, and a special "Auntie" to Colin and Stacey Heise, Janelle (Heise) and Jerry Arts, and their 5 children. She is also survived and will be greatly missed by many relatives and friends. Williams Funeral Services entrusted with arrangements, friends will be received on Friday October 21st, from 2-5 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday at 11am at Stevensville United Brethren Church. Interment to follow at Bertie Brethren In Christ Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Stevensville United Brethren Church or the Fort Erie Humane Society.
