Obituary of Ronald Ferguson

FERGUSON, Ronald – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Ronald Ferguson on October 4, 2015 at Douglas Memorial Hospital surrounded by family. Ron deeply missed his late wife Marlene Forbes. Much loved father of Nancy Menard (Robert) of Blind River and John (Andrea) of Oakville. Special grandfather to Michael and Robbie Menard; Shaun and Ellen Ferguson. Dear step grandfather of Chad Menard (Sherri) and Shasta Flagyl (Bryan). Dear brother of Elizabeth King of Stratford. Brother-in-law of Pearl Forbes (late Bill) of St. Marys and Donna Davidson (Dalt) of Mississauga. Born in Stratford in 1935, Ron came to Fort Erie in 1958 and later started his career as a teacher and technical director at Fort Erie Secondary School. After retirement, he enjoyed winters and friends in Florida. His great passion was Bridge, and he will be missed by his bridge partners and friends. Visitation will be held at Williams Funeral Home 722 Ridge Rd. North, Ridgeway, on Friday October 9th from 12 to 2 p.m. with a service to follow at 2pm. A luncheon will follow. Donations to a charity of choice would be gratefully appreciated. Special thanks to Dr. Scher and the nursing staff at Douglas Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion and to June Gall, Noreen Smith and Bob and Lola Mann for their kind assistance throughout our dad’s illness.
