Claude was such a kind and gentle human being and cared so very much for his family! I witnessed this often as he visited Garrison Road School for events. Condolences to his entire family - he was a special person.

I had Mr. Winger in grades 7 & 8 at Fort Erie Sr Elementary in the late 60’s. He was a kind teacher with the straightest posture of anyone and had the most “amazing” cursive writing I’ve ever seen! Pre Covid I ran into him at Swiss Chalet in Niagara Falls and told him just that. A true a gentleman.

My deepest and sincere sympathy goes out to Cobie and the family, including extended family members. You are in my thoughts and prayers. I will be there this afternoon in thought during the Celebration of the Life of a wonderful Christian gentleman. I am grateful to have known Claude as a friend and as a brother in Christ. He had a heart for missions and did his part in sharing the Gospel with the world. May God bless you all with His comfort, His presence and His peace and be your strength in the days to come.

I learned many valuable lessons from Mr Winger. As a teacher he was professional. Scholastically I learned for this reason. As a person, I learned a new type of humour by overhearing him with another teacher enjoying laughter. I observed his compassion when I got my pencil stuck in my retainer. And yes of this he had forewarned his students. Mr Winger taught life lessons by being not only a good teacher as well as a very fine person. May you not only RIP, but Soar free like an Eagle. You deserve the best Sir. Thanks for giving your best. God bless you. Condolences to your family and friends.

Mr. Winger was a wonderful teacher. I still have and use some of the penmanship skills that he taught.

I am very sorry to read this news. I have good memories of Gospel Tide functions at Trinitylife. Claude always had a smile when we joked about all the goodies for the event. Kind gentle man of God.
