Obituary of Fay Letwin

Letwin : Fay Evelyn (nee Wood) 

It is with great sadness that the family of Fay Letwin announce her passing.  She passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s hospital in Kitchener on Wednesday, June 5th, 2024, at the age of 88.  She is reunited with her late husband Joseph (2008).  Proud mother of Steve (Debbie), Jim (Susan), Joe (Patricia), Nancy (Doug), Karen, and Elaine (Mark).  Much loved grandmother to Melissa, Jennifer, Marcus, David, Kathleen, Luke, Ben, Rachel, Joey, Stuart, Adam, Katelynn, Samantha, Sabryna, Michelle and Cassandra, and devoted great grandmother to Edward, Haakon, Roza, Jack, Liam, Dean, Ryan, Charlotte, Ethan, Abigail, Isabelle, Jack, Will, Evelyn, Emily, Marcella, Amarra, Nina, and Nova. Cherished sister of Dan (Dianne) and predeceased by her father (Albert), mother (Loretta), brother David (Maryanne)and sister Sandra. Fondly remembered by her many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and treasured friends.  Fay was a faithful member of St. George’s Catholic Church and St. George’s Catholic Women’s League.  She was also a member of the Douglas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for 30 years, volunteering in the Tuck Shoppe.  Fay was born and raised in Fort Erie and considered herself a “town girl” until moving out to the farm in Sherkston.  As her father before her, she loved music and played the piano and sang for the pleasure of her family and friends at the many gatherings she and Joe loved to host (with plenty of great food and drink for all) at the farm and in their other homes in such places as Cottam, Capreol, Montreal, St. John’s, Harare, Zimbabwe and in Fort Erie where they chose to retire in 1995.  Arrangements entrusted to WILLIAMS FUNERAL SERVICES 722 Ridge Road North, Ridgeway from 9:30 to 10:30 am on Tuesday June 11th.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 11th, at 11:00 am at St. George’s Catholic Church, 56 RIDGEWAY, RD., Crystal Beach.  Memorial donations would be appreciated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
