Obituary of Glenyce Joy Hancox
Hancox, Glenyce Joy ‘Lily’
Born in Birmingham, England on June 23, 1933 and resided in Fort Erie since 1956. Lily passed away peacefully on January 4, 2024 at Gilmore Lodge after a brief illness.
Daughter of Elizabeth Rose Griffith and Victor Mathew Hunt, with whom she is joyfully reunited with. Dear friend to Aimee and Shawn Graham, and Jack and Nona.
Lily was a theatrical musician and vocal performer, adorning the stage name of Lynda James. She dedicated her years as a Registered Nurse and was an avid animal lover and activist. She had a special place in her heart for all of God’s wonderful creatures. During her stay at Gilmore Lodge, Lily was the Resident Council Representative and also introduced bands and entertainment to the home.
To all the caregivers at Gilmore Lodge who cared for Lily…Thank You ! We all know she didn’t always keep her opinions to herself. You handled all of her ‘advice’ with such kindness and patience and we know she appreciated all of you. Lily was comfortable and at peace in her final days because of the courage and love you gave her. To Lily, you were her angels.
