Obituary of Marilyn Dawdy
With the heaviest of hearts we announce the death of Marilyn Kay Dawdy (nee Hugar) on October 4th 2023. We have faith that her broken heart from the loss of her Husband Terry (2014) is now healed as they are reunited.
Mom/Ma loved her sons Todd (Eryn), Aaron (Mara) and Chad. Maga Marilyn adored her grandchildren Taylor, Lennon and Drew. She always supported and encouraged all of us at the arena, the ballpark and the soccer field and in turn proudly kept her family and friends updated on our accomplishments.
Predeceased by her parents Mary and Bud Hugar, brothers Ron (Joyce), Roger and Gary as well as in laws Jim and Norma Dawdy.
Mom will be missed by her extended family, the sister she never had, niece Christine (Franco) Mastromatteo, nephews Matthew & Michael Hugar, and niece Crystal (George) Scott.
We keep close all the wonderful memories, the best Cabbage Rolls and Borscht enjoyed by many over the years, we vow to attempt to make them. Mom loved Bingo, Crafts, Scrabble, and Canasta with family. She always had a gentle hand, a kind word and an open heart that made you feel safe & loved, often visiting with people who had no other company when working at the hospital.
We know others will feel this loss as well, her close friend groups, past coworkers, neighbours and classmates and those that made it a point to get together for dinner or lunch and catch up. She would constantly send cards with notes to people for all occasions to keep in touch.
We are grateful to all for the outpouring of love and support as we walk this journey and to those that have walked it with us.
A service to celebrate her Life is being planned and will be announced soon.
