Obituary of Ronald Frederick Watts

WATTS, Ronald – With deep sadness, we announce the death of Ronald Frederick Watts on June 7^th, 2023, at Douglas Memorial Hospital, Fort Erie at the age of 79.  Dear husband of Sandra (Race/Dodman), Ron had the fun of a huge family, he was the son of Ronald & Mary Watts, brother to George (Jean), Ed (Collette), Linda (Pete), Deb (Jeff Eden), Joanne (Dan Culp), Charles (Marsha). Son in law of Richard & Gerry Dodman Niagara Falls, brother in law Llyod (Janine), Debi (Mike Richardson), Helen (Fred Vandale), John and Richard. Dad to Jennifer (Eric Offermann), grandpa to Zack, Patrick, Kiera and William Offermann. Godfather to Sara Burd, Uncle Ron to 28 nieces and nephews. Ron had a great sense of humor and was an accomplished athlete. Ron worked as a Correctional Officer for over 40 years at Niagara Detention Center.  3 years ago Ron suffered a severe stroke that threatened his life with the attention and dedication of Dr. Paul Spencer, Ron survived 3 years past his expiry date and was able to be active at home.  Dr. Paul you are an asset to your profession. A big thank you to our neighbors Kelly & Diana Rowe, Harry & Jan Korellos, Loretta and Sue, Rick and Judy. Also would like to send a big thank you to Collette Cloutier for all her help.

Our family will host a Celebration of Life for Ron at Fort Erie Golf Course on September 23, 2023 from 2 -5 p.m. Please come join us to share memories, stories and pictures, In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ridgeway Lioness Club.
