Obituary of Mildred Rosetta Crumb
Mildred Rosetta Ann McKay Crumb passed away peacefully, surrounded by all her children, on January 21, 2023 in her 90th year.
Beloved and devoted wife of 61 years to the late Daniel Oscar Crumb. Predeceased by her daughter Jacqulyn McKay, brothers Russell, Cortland and Charles as well as her sisters Clara and Janet.
She was a doting mother of Dan McKay, Donna Azzopardi (Joe), Russell (Vicki), Billy (Loa), Patty (dog/Minnie) and Cheryl (dog/Molly) and loving sister to Myrtle, Clarence and Jim.
Great grandmother to 13 Grandchildren and 20 Great Grandchildren.
As a devoted wife and mother to 7 children, Mildred also found time for hobbies. Some of her favourite were quilting, knitting and needle point, all of which kept her hands busy and her heart full.
As she aged, her hobby interests changed. She became an avid reader, reading a novel every 2-3 days and spending time with those she loved in between.
Mildred’s legacy as a selfless provider, a hard worker and most of all, her family first attitude will always remind us of not just who she was, but who we strive to all be like.
She will be sadly missed, but the impression she made on the world is eternal.
We are forever grateful for the two agencies, The March of Dimes and Bayshore, for their support and care during the past few years of her unfailing health. She truly loved the PSW’s and looked forward to the homecare visits from the team of girls involved. Thank you all for her exceptional care and giving her love and dignity throughout this time of her life. Thank you to all of the doctors and nurses at the Welland County General Hospital but extra special thanks to ER nurse Lianne, palliative nurse Sara, Lisa and their team. Another special thank you to Pastor John Gibbons and everyone who was praying for her.
Williams Funeral Services, 722 Ridge Road, Ridgeway entrusted with arrangements. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday January 26, 2023 from 11am until time of service at 1pm in the chapel.
Cremation to follow. Mildred will be interred and reunited with her late husband Daniel at Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery at a later date.
