Obituary of Heather Jean Plato

PLATO Heather (September 3, 1942 – December 5, 2022)

The world has lost an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and sister.  Heather Jean Plato, passed away in her 81^st year with her husband by her side. 

Heather leaves behind her husband of 55 years, Dave Plato.  Her daughter Beth (Todd) Giles, her granddaughters Emma & Grace Giles and her sister Loretta (Alan) Covello and nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents James & Dorothy Auckland

Heather enjoyed many outdoor activities like fishing, boating, camping and traveling.  She especially enjoyed her traveling adventures with her best friend and husband Dave.  They would set off on their adventures and enjoy every minute together.  She also enjoyed playing cards and spending time with the Red Hat Ladies.

What meant the most to Heather was her family.  Heather was the perfect grandmother to “her girls”, Emma and Grace, teaching them to bake, sew, play games and love with abundance. She also had a great love for all animals, especially her dogs.

Heather had a full life, including being a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force. She was a caring and giving woman.  You would never leave the Plato home without something to eat and a cup of coffee.

We would like to thank the staff at Gilmore Lodge, Dr. Scher & Dr. Henry.  Although her time at Gilmore Lodge was short, you treated her with love and compassion. Thank you.

She also leaves behind her son, David Plato.

Williams Funeral Services, 722 Ridge Rd, N, Ridgeway entrusted with funeral arrangements. Cremation has taken place and a funeral for Heather will take place at a later date.  A celebration of Heather’s life will be held at the funeral home on Sunday December 11^th, 2022 from 2 to 4 p.m. In memory of Heather, those who wish may donate to Gilmore Lodge.
