Liz, my deepest sympathy to you and your children and families. I have fond memories of visiting you in Ridgeway with my family in the summers when we would go up to Canada and stay with Mary and “Divvy”. My mother didn’t have a lot of happy childhood memories but the memories of her summers in Canada with her cousins brought the largest smile to her face. Let’s hope they’ve all greeted each other again!

It is apparent that Charles lived a full and highly accomplished life. As a teacher and principal, he had a great impact on his students and his fellow teachers. He was a true gentlemen and a quiet inspiration to all who knew him. It was an honour to know him. No doubt his family and those close to him will miss him greatly. The world has been a better place because of Charles. Rest now good and faithful servant.

My sincere condolences to Mr. Davies family & friends. He was the principal when I attended SS#4 (Garrison Road School) many, many years ago. I probably gave him most of his grey hairs. He was a respected and gentle man, as well as a great accomplished writer. RIP sir.

Jacky & Jim & Charles cousin Joyce have such wonderful memories of staying with Charles & Liz & so enjoyed the early morning conversations with Charles with his amazing stories & learnt so much about him - his gentle kindness will never be forgotten.

Mr Davies was my Grade 7 teacher at Rose Seaton School. It was a huge class of 42 students. I like to think that I was one of his better students! He introduced us to the concept of oral examinations - something I didn’t encounter again until 3rd and 4th year University. Sounds like a well-lived and well traveled life. Condolences to you, Mrs Davies, and the rest of your family.

Mr.Davies will be missed . I didn't know him long but thoroughly enjoyed his company. Every hour that i had the privilege of spending with him was an honor.
