Sincere condolences to Helen and Judy and family. Wayne was a very special man and intregal part of the Highfield (Sandra's) family. We loved him dearly and he will be sorely missed. He was kind, thoughtful, playful, enthusiatic, loyal, dedicated, proud, sensitive, reliable, fun to be around, caring, strong, smart and just beautiful inside and out. Thanks to Margaret, John and Kim and Bill for all they have done to support him in his time of need.

My sincere condolences and God's comfort to Wayne's family and closest friends and associates. Being around Wayne's age, we had that childhood familiarity growing up in Ridgeway, he on Nigh Road and myself on Prospect Point Rd. I shall miss seeing him around the places where we would randomly show up, like the post-office, bank, or Tim Horton's. Remember the good life, and a salute to the next.

To my Uncle, I was always "Yack". Uncle Wayne was a passionate, hardworking and loyal man - a true role model for any child growing up. But not all was so serious with Uncle Wayne - he had quite the soft side, which normally involved an enormous amount of tickles as a child...leading into to a satirical roast of my "new age" world views as I grew older (this was a typical conversation at the X-Mas breakfast table!). This softness extended to those around him - caring for his beloved partner in crime, Aunt Sam, through tremendously difficult times and most recently helping and keeping Grandma company. This selflessness and dedication to those he loved the most will undoubtedly be the part of Uncle Wayne that we all weep for most heavily.
In many ways we are fortunate that ALS robbed Wayne of so little time in his life, for if it had been more, I would wager the world would have missed out on a beautiful soul.
