Obituary of Jacqueline Anne Huibers

Jacqueline Anne Huibers   January 18, 1941-January 9, 2022

It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Jacqueline Anne Huibers (nee Cain) with family by her side on Sunday, January 9, 2022 just shy of her 81st birthday.  She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Huibers, of 58 years, and her children, Louise Henry (late Roy), Bill Huibers Jr (Alyse), and Connie Armstrong (Dave).  Jackie will be missed dearly by her grandchildren, Kelsey, Matthew, and Jenna Henry, Noah and Rachel Huibers, Tonia M’Igyver, Chad and Derek Howard, and Katilyn Learn (Ty), and her great-grandchildren, Liam, Adria, Hudson, and Calder.  She is also survived by her brothers, David Cain (MaryAnn) and Malcolm Cain (Sue), and predeceased by her brother, Edward (Pat). 

Jackie graduated from the Mack School of Nursing in 1962 starting her career at St. Catharines General Hospital and later retiring from Gilmore Lodge Nursing Home.  She was a cub scout leader with First Sherkston Cubs for many years.  She was also an active member of St. George’s Roman Catholic Church with their Catholic Women’s League and Food Pantry.  She loved gardening, needle work, and spending time with family. 

Williams Funeral Services, 722 Ridge Rd N, Ridgeway entrusted with funeral arrangements Visitation will be held on Friday January 14th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.   A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. George’s Roman Catholic Church on Saturday morning at 11 a.m.  Burial to follow at Ridgeway Memorial Cemetery.

Covid 19 protocols now require individuals wishing to attend the visitation or funeral service to reserve a spot by calling 905 894-1161 from 9 am to 4 pm or through email at staff@williamsfuneralservices.ca   Please remember mandatory masks, social distancing and capacity limits are in place.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jackie may be made to St. George’s Food Bank.
