Paul Baiano

Obituary of Paul Augustine Baiano

Baiano, Paul Augustine

Passed away peacefully, at home, surrounded by his family on October 7th, 2021 at the age of 71. Survived by his loving wife of 40 years Susan (Eckert) and his daughters Rona, Laura (David) Van Koughnett, and Elaine (Ryan) Garrow and his grandchildren Natalie, Eleanor, Alexander and Matthew. Also survived by his sister Patricia and many brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews.

Paul is predeceased by his parents Augustine and Elena Baiano.

Paul was owner/operator of the family business, Baiano Poultry and later Baiano Poultry and Seafood for 21 years. After selling the business, he moved on to various interests including CNC machine work and in the transportation industry where he put many more miles under his belt. He was fierce, strong-willed, and determined to get the job done on his terms.

Paul will be remembered for his dry humour and sharp wit, the master of all jokes and how he delivered them with great panache.

A very special thank you to Dr. Scher for his gentle care and compassion, and to Dr. Wassif and Carly for their full support. The palliative care team Robin, Barbara and Jackie for the great care and kindness. Thank you also to the CCAC team Joyce, Amanda and Jenn who were with us when this journey began. A heartfelt thank you to Melanie: your compassion was so much appreciated. We couldn’t have gone through this journey without all of you.

Following Paul’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place on October 23, 2021 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home, 722 Ridge Rd, Ridgeway Ontario.  Covid 19 protocols include mandatory masks; there will be capacity limits and social distancing in place.
