Obituary of Joan Anita Beteau

We are celebrating the life of Joan Anita Beteau, loving and adored wife of 57 years to Garnet Beteau her 'Ducky', incredible Mom to Deborah (Mike), Garrett (Karen), and Gerald (Aimee); wonderful Nanna to Justin (Sheena), Courtney, Zachary, Olivia, Janelle, Emma, Cameron and newly Nanna-Nanna to Stevie.   Joanie is cherished by her siblings Gary (Terryl), Marilyn (Buster), and now reunited in heaven with her brothers Richard and Archie and her parents Emma and Archie McDonald.  Joan had a very special bond with all of her cousins & 'sister-cousin', nieces and nephews and her many wonderful friends who live both near and far.

On Friday, April 23rd at home and surrounded by her family, Joan was peacefully welcomed into Paradise.  We all raised a glass of her favourite wine with two ice cubes (just the way she liked it) to honour her beautiful life and how much joy she brought to anyone who had the pleasure and privilege of knowing her.

Joan will be missed dearly, as she touched the hearts of so many people during her 77 wonderful years of life.   She lit up the room with her presence and never failed to create laughter.  Joan gave us so much joy with her hilarious choice of words and phrases, a lot of which she made up herself.   Examples of a few good ones....   "come on dough boy,"   "holy croaky", "you, you... biscuit box", "oh fooey", and "jolly good".   You could always count on Joan to uplift your spirits and make you feel like a million bucks.  

Goodbye for now sweet Joan.  As you have always said, “God loves you and so do we and that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.”
