Violet Irene Biggins Grimmell
The devoted and cherished mother of Brian Biggins of Fort Erie and Barbara Grant (James) of Tillsonberg has been escorted by the angels to her home in heaven. Born on March 10, 1923 in Viscount, Saskatchewan moving to Ontario as a child she resided in Fort Erie most of her life and passed away on January 14, 2021 at Gilmore Lodge, Fort Erie. She was predeceased by her husband’s Ross Biggins and Jerry Grimmell both of Fort Erie, her parents Almyra and Hans Knutson and 6 siblings. She is survived by her sister Bonnie Hemauer of Port Colborne. Violet was the beloved grandmother to Mark Biggins (Elizabeth), Ridgeway, Darryl Biggins, BC, Steven Grant (Judy), Sherkston, Gregg Grant (Kim), Ridgeway, Aaron Grant (Kelly), PEI, John Grant (Mel), Tillsonburg, Emily Krahn (James), PEI, Tyler (Stephanie) Fournier, Orangeville and Melissa (Bryan) MacNeil (Fort Erie). Great grandmother to Matthew Biggins, Jacob Biggins, Ben Grant (Kathryn), Nikki Grant, Clay Grant, Vanessa (Eric) Grant, Ashley Grant, Sophie Grant, Warren Grant, Naomi Krahn, Asa Krahn. Great, great grandmother to Hudson, Karson, Alyson, Molly and Jake.
She will be sadly missed by her many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to her niece Betty Hume, who was like a second daughter for all of her loving care over the years.
A very special thank you goes out to Dr. Che and the outstanding, compassionate and caring nurses, PSW’s and staff at Gilmore Lodge. They made the last years of Violets life ones filled with memories, laughter, smiles and hugs. We know you will all miss her laps of the halls and many stops to hug all of you along the way.
