To all the Rukavina family, we offer our sincere condolences. So many wonderful memories of the Rukavina/Elliott relationship over 50 years being neighbours and friends. John and Katie made us feel we were part of their extended family. Their door was always open and you could hardly ever leave without a bite to eat or a shot (if it was after noon). John’s excitement when he came over to announce the birth of not just another baby girl, but two beautiful sisters for Diane. Although they rarely left the girls with a babysitter, it was my good luck to get that job and enjoy all the goodies left out for me to enjoy. There was no limit to John and Katie’s generosity. Just the best people! May you always be comforted by happy memories. Sending all our love your way.

Dear Mary Ann , Gloria , Diane , so sorry to hear about your Dad's passing . l will always remember him as being friendly and back in the day offering you a glass of homemade wine around the holidays . Now he's resting and can look forward to Jesus words found at John 5: 28,29. John always kept his home and yard spotless , a real testament to how he loved the earth and things on it. You all must have loads for fond memories to share with each other as this to will help ease the pain and hurt of loosing a loved one . Brian

To the family if John, I offer my deepest sympathy. I lived behind your parents for a time and adored them both but it was your father John who was always out in his yard whenever I was out in mine and we would visit over the fence. He was such a kind and gentle man. After I moved, I would run into them...usually out grocery shopping, and always enjoyed seeing their smiles and sharing a conversation. May your lifetime iofmemories, and knowing they are together once again, bring comfort to you now.

Dear Diane, Gloria, Mary Ann and families, I write this condolence on behalf of my mom, Mary Balenovich. Please accept her heartfelt sympathy on the loss of your dad, father in law and grandfather. As she said to me, “Johnny was a good man and I’m very sad I wasn’t able to visit him this summer. Katie and Johnny were our good, good friends and we were very lucky to know them. We had many good times together. Girls, you were very lucky to have the wonderful parents you had. Please know Johnny and Katie are in my prayers”.
