Obituary of Sidney Morris
MORRIS, Sidney - Having lived a long and busy life Sidney “Sid” Phillip Morris passed away on the 7th January 2018 in his 100th year, at the Village of Tansley Woods long term care facility in Burlington, Ontario. Having been born on Murray Street in Fort Erie, Sid lived his life on the Niagara Peninsula, between Fort Erie, Ridgeway and Chippawa. Following several short term jobs including one with the Fort Erie Dairy he had a long and eventful career with the Canadian Niagara Power Company, retiring from there in April 1983 after 44 years. Predeceased by his loving wife of 40 years, Marjorie Gertrude (nee McLeod) in 1980, his only son Sidney Phillip junior in 1989, brothers Kenneth and Ernest and sister Margaret (Penny) Morris, he is survived by his sister Evelyn Johnston and caring sister-in-law Ann McLeod. Sidney will be greatly missed by his daughter Suzanne Elaine Radley and her husband David, their three children Kellie Morrison (Scott), Matthew Radley (Megan) and Timothy Radley (Sarah) and great grandchildren Benjamin, Owen, Camryn, Avery, Abigail, Maximus and Parker. Those who knew him will know that he will always be “As Grouchy As Ever”! Williams Funeral Services 722 Ridge Rd. North, Ridgeway are entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Ridgeway Memorial Cemetery, Ridgeway Road at Farr, after which a light lunch will be served at the funeral home. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
