Earl was our personal and corporate lawyer for many years until he retired. He was a wonderful, clever and fun person. I’ll always cherish the stories he would share about the greatest loves of his life - Gail and his children. Beautiful man. He will be missed. God bless all of you. Our deepest condolences. Our prayers and thoughts are with you in your time of sorrow.

Earle gave me my first job as a lawyer and taught me the fundamentals of practising law and how to keep my sense of humour. His honestly, attention to detail and practical approach to resolving issues resonate with me some 33 years later. Your Dad will be sadly missed.

A great example for me to follow as a young lawyer ; quite an opponent in some memorable times in motions court.
I cannot agree more with Ryall's comment

He had the best sense of humor and was a pleasure to deal with. Always had a twinkle in his eyes! He knew how to find the fun in anything.

It was a pleasure to know Earl. Played many a game of squash at his Home Court on Rice Road. Raised many an glass of beer on Tuesday night squash league with the Welland Squash Team out of the old Welland Club, and on occasion squash tournaments in Buffalo. Earl was a competitor in whatever he did. I remember him fondly. Condolences to his family.

Earle was my mentor when I came here from Saskatchewan to work for him at Blackadder Lacavera. He was a unique and fearless litigator. We did cases that no one else would take on. He worked hard, and was a great sportsman, and athlete, and father to his children, and husband to his wife Gail. He will be missed. He went to Ottawa U Law School back when Dean Feeney got rid of 50% of the class each year, and on top of his studies, he rented an ran a pig farm to provide his family. He was one of a kind!
