Obituary of Howard Noyes
NOYES, Howard “Buzzy” Reuben
With deep sadness the family of Howard Noyes announces his peaceful passing at the Welland County General Hospital on Saturday, August 5, 2017, in his 94 year. Howard was the youngest of the three children of Reuben and Ella (House) Noyes, lifelong area residents. He proudly served with the Royal Canadian Air Force in Clarenville, Torbay, Gander, and finally St. John’s, Newfoundland where he met his beloved wife, Rosalie May Stephenson (deceased 2015), of 70 years. Predeceased by infant son, Howard Wesley, his sisters Muriel Kenney (Charles) and Helen Nigh (Daniel), daughter-in-law Muriel (Boyd) Noyes and grand-daughter Faith Noyes, both of Ballygawley, N. Ireland. Howard is survived by his children, Lester (Cynthia), Rosemary Heipel (Chuck), Roslyn Olsen (Roy), and Lowell; six grandchildren: Andrea McKinnon-Matthews (Jim) of Adelaide, South Australia, Stephen Noyes (Linda) of Ottawa, Andrew Heipel and Julia Heipel of Kitchener, Jesse Olsen and Daniel Olsen of Fort Erie; and two great-grandchildren: Liam and Isabelle McKinnon-Matthews of Adelaide, South Australia. A special thank-you to the special people at Garrison Place for their excellent care and attention to our father’s well-being. Also immensely appreciated were the compassion and understanding shown by the staff at the Welland County General Hospital. Howard will be remembered by the many who knew him for his sense of humour and his readiness to share a laugh at life, as well as his many years of attendance and support at the United Brethren in Christ Church, Stevensville. Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, from 7-9 p.m. A service celebrating Howard’s life will be held at the United Brethren in Christ Church, Stevensville on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Bertie Brethren in Christ Church Cemetery, Stevensville, to follow.
