Obituary of Vincenza "Virginia" Noto
NOTO, VINCENZA “VIRGINIA” – On Friday February 17, 2017, Virginia suddenly and peacefully passed away, surrounded by her family, at the Greater Niagara General Hospital at the age of 92. Predeceased by her loving husband Salvatore “Sam” and her dear son Larry. Loving mother of Josephine (Richard) Komarmi of Orchard Park, NY. Much loved Nonna of Jim (Alicia Willette) Komarmi of Lyme, New Hampshire and Jane (Vernon) Stephens of Littleton, Colorado. Loving Bisnonna of Olivia Stephens, Haylee Stephens, Lincoln Komarmi and Aidan Beyer. Dear sister of Sam Insinna. Virginia will be missed by nephews and nieces here and in Italy.
She was born in Vallelunga, Italy on August 1, 1924 and immigrated to their adopted and beautiful country Canada in 1954. She was an exquisite seamstress for her family and friends. In her latter years when sewing wasn’t an option she took up knitting and lucky those that have sweaters, hats or scarves made by her. She was a member of St. George’s Catholic Church and a life-time member of the Catholic Women’s League. She was noted for baking fresh breads and rolls for the Catholic Women’s League bake sales.
Williams Funeral Services, 722 Ridge Road N, Ridgeway is entrusted with arrangements. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm, preceded by a prayer vigil at 6:45 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday morning at 11 am at St. George’s Catholic Church, Crystal Beach. Rite of committal to follow at Ridgeway Memorial Cemetery. In memory of Virginia those who wish, may donate to St. George’s Catholic Church Food Bank.
