Condolences from cousin Kevin Van Koughnett and family in Calgary. John was always helpful to me especially with family genealogy. I remember well walking through Foley cemetery with him following my father's funeral discussing the many relationships between the families. It was very clear how important his family was to him and how proud he was of you all. Cherish his memory and remember his words and glances in those many memories that will live on with you and your family.

We were saddened to learn of John's passing , although we have only been a neighbor for a short time,John made sure our driveway was cleared at the roadway each winter,he was a neighbor anyone would want to have and would only stop working around the house to give his grandkids a ride or play with them,our deepest sympathy to Annie and family.

It is with a heavy heart we write this message. John has been our wonderful neighbour and friend for 24 years. We have become more than friends. John was always there to assist us in any way he could. We shared baked goods back and forth. John could do anything he put his mind to. Annie and the family; especially Natalie and Eleanor give us so much joy. I will always remember when we had a new water heater put in the house and it was winter time. We were told we need bricks or something to elevate the heater. We put our hands up with dismay. John said "Hold on" He went in the back yard, dug through the snow and brought us bricks. We have so many stories similar to this. Too many to mention. John we love you to the moon and back again forever. You will be another of our "Special Angels".
