SMITH, Stanley “Gordon” (December 1, 1935-July 9, 2016) – It is with much sadness that the family of Gordon announce his passing at Maple Park Lodge, Fort Erie in his 81st year after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 58 years Beverley-Anne, his sons Stan and wife Linda, Dan and his wife Betty Ann, Derek and his wife Patricia and the late Stephen (1975). He also leaves 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Gord enjoyed the outdoors having hobbies such as Photography, Agate Hunting, Rock Painting and Lapidary Work. His occupation was that of a Heavy Equipment and Auto Mechanic, work that he was very good at and enjoyed. He and his wife owned and operated Smith’s Motel at Pancake Bay, Ontario, 50 miles northwest of Sault Ste. Marie on Lake Superior for 35 years. He was an active participant in the Community Bible Church in Batchawana Bay and Golden Harvest Baptist Church, Stevensville. A special thank you to the nurses and PSW’s at Maple Park Lodge for their tender care and compassion. Williams Funeral Services 722 Ridge Rd. North, Ridgeway have been entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday July 12th from 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday July 13th at 11 o’clock with a reception to follow at Golden Harvest Baptist Church, Stevensville. Burial will take place at a later date in Sault Ste. Marie. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to The Gideons or the Canadian Bible Society.
