Obituary of Janet Matthews

MATTHEWS, Janet Mary- Passed away peacefully at the age of 66 at Hospice Niagara with her family at her side. Janet will be lovingly remembered by her husband Stanley, sons Glenn (Kim), Mark (Callie), mother Edith Bruce, brother David (Shirley) Bruce, grandchildren Hayley, Zack, Nathan and Jaden. Aunt to Kristina Bruce and Kathy (Fraser) Bunn. Predeceased by her father Robert Bruce (1999). Janet was a Registered Nurse and received her Masters Degree in Science from D’Youville College in May 1997. She devoted her life to helping others and educate them in the Healthcare Profession. She retired from the Nursing Department Faculty at Brock University in 2009. Special thanks to Dr. Dhillon and the staff at Brock 3rd floor GNGH and Hospice Niagara where she received exceptional care. A very warm and special thank you to her close friend Wendy Pagonis for the care she provided to Janet during the past months of her illness. Williams Funeral Services, 722 Ridge Road N., Ridgeway entrusted with arrangements. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday May 14th, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm and on Wednesday May 15th from 11-12 noon. A service to pay tribute to Janet’s life will be held in the Williams Chapel on Wednesday at 12 noon.
