Obituary of William Mymryk

MYMRYK, William “Bill” - Passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Sunday August 2nd , 2015 at the Douglas Memorial Hospital in Fort Erie. William was just shy of his 84th birthday and his 60th wedding anniversary to his loving wife Jean. Beloved father of Jeannette Mymryk (Douglas King), Julie (Robert Semmler), John Mymryk (Chaddie) & James Mymryk (Anh Phan). Grandpa will be missed and fondly remembered by his grandchildren Brittany, Courtney, Derek, Melissa, Sydney, Megan, Benjamin & Alexander. Surviving sisters Jean Toth and Rose Dagenais will also feel the loss of their brother. Predeceased by his parents Michael and Sophia Mymryk and brothers Harry and Stanley Mymryk. After battling cancer many times in his life, William lost his battle to cancer. William had a very successful life as he was a master electrician (owner of JEM Electric which included his computer business), pilot, tradesman, high school & college educator and loved being a farmer. He was a Trustee on the Humberstone School Board and a longtime member of the RCAF Association 434 (Niagara Peninsula) Wing. His “love to learn” as much as he could was embraced by all his grandchildren. Many thanks to the nursing team on the sixth floor at Welland Hospital and the physicians who cared for him, in particular Dr. Gabrielli. Greatly appreciated was his transfer to Douglas Memorial Hospital under the compassionate care of Dr. Scher & his staff as this was his last wish to be transferred to a place where he could feel comfortable and calm with his wife Jean beside him. William’s family will receive friends at Williams Funeral Services 722 Ridge Rd. North, Ridgeway, on Saturday August 22, 2015 from 1-2 o’clock followed by a service in the chapel. A reception will follow. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to Palliative Care at Douglas Memorial Hospital, The Welland Hospital or All Saints Anglican Church in Dain City.
