Obituary of Thomas Raymond Tyrrell

Tyrrell Thomas Raymond - Laughing and loving until he could no longer, God’s gift to the world in the person of Thomas Raymond Tyrrell, of Charleston Drive, Ridgeway, was warmly welcomed home by His Saviour on Sunday, March 22nd. Born July 5, 1938, Tom was the youngest son of Thomas and Bella Tyrrell of Renton. Tom’s best friend, and loving wife of 56 years, Jessie (nee Voth), was happily and gracefully with him every step of the way. Jessie was and will be comforted by her sisters Velda, Mary (Butch), Helen, Lydia (Jake), Alice [2012] and Tom’s brothers Desmond [2014] (Vi), Fred (Fay), Bob (Joan) and their families. These two families consist of many dear cousins, nieces and nephews of several generations. Tom had diverse careers and interests over his lifetime. A graduate of McMaster University, he was a teacher, then the National Sales Manager of Ginn and Co., a pilot of his personal plane and skipper of his sail boat. Even in his unofficial retirement in Florida, he was a driver of buses full of children and an all around world traveller; a lover of life and of all things living. Tom will be forever remembered for his pranks and jokes, his broad smile and big hugs. Most of all, Jessie and all of those of us who love Him will remember dear Tom as a true follower of Jesus Christ; a reader of God’s Word and a believer in His plan for us all. Thankfully that plan for Tom and Jessie included being surrounded by a huge circle of dear friends old and new, neighbors from every place they ever lived, and church families who have actively loved them during his difficult part of their earthly journey. As he had planned, Tom’s life will be celebrated by a service of remembrance and rejoicing on Saturday April 25th at 1 o'clock at Riverside Community Church (2669 Niagara Parkway, Ridgeway, ON L2A 5M4).
