Obituary of Carol Sims

SIMS, Carol (January 26, 1959-January 14, 2015) - It is with profound sadness, we announce that Carol Sims has lost her battle with cancer in her 56th year. Carol passed away peacefully with family and close friends by her side on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at the Douglas Memorial Hospital in Fort Erie. Carol is the loving daughter of Dorothy Sims and the late Fred Sims. She leaves behind her dear brother Jim (Diane) Sims, sister Kathy Slat (Joe Bergsma), nephew Ken (Jen) Sims, niece Kim (Steve) Hoover, nephew Shaun (Laura) Slat, niece Cheryl Slat, great niece Morgan Hoover, and great nephews Matthew and Ryan Sims. Her infectious smile and personality, hard work and dedication to the Fort Erie Junior B Meteors will be cherished forever. Carol is going to be missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know her. A special thank you goes out to close friend Patti Tripp for caring for Carol in her time of sickness. The Sims family would like to thank the Oncology doctors and the 3rd floor station B nursing staff at the St. Catharines Hospital, Dr. Che and all of the nursing staff in the palliative care unit of the Douglas Memorial Hospital. The Sims Family will receive visitors on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday morning at 11 o’clock. Cremation will follow. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Crystal-Ridge Community Church or the Fort Erie Junior B Meteors.
