Obituary of Theresa Peischl

Theresa Peischl, Feb 14/29 - Nov 3/24

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Theresa Peischl on Sunday, November 3, 2024. Theresa was born in Kukmirn Austria on Valentine’s Day, 1929.  Theresa came to Canada with her husband, Frank and their son, Frank in May of 1954.

Theresa was an avid gardener, who enjoyed tending to her beautiful flowers and extensive vegetable garden. She was a valued member of St. George’s church, an active member of the of church's Catholic Womens League, and found peace singing with the choir as well as wonderful friendships over the years.  Theresa was an established cook and baker, often entertaining her family and friends with her famous beef rouladen, German potato salad, cucumber salad, and delicious apple strudel dessert.

Theresa is predeceased by her husband, Frank, her sister Rose in Canada, and siblings and family in Austria. She is survived by her son Frank, daughter-in-law Carol, granddaughter Catharine (Dave) and grandson Christopher (Hilary).  She was adored and will be sadly missed by her great grandchildren; Sophia, Abigail, Emily, Maya and Sinclair.  She will also be missed by her family in Austria as well as the Hilmayer family in Ridgeway and beyond.
Despite struggling with dementia, Theresa’s happy and positive spirit was always present and shining on those around her. She never missed an opportunity to tell people how important they were to her and how much she truly loved them.  Her medical caregivers always spoke about how sweet and appreciative Theresa always was.

We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Dr. Scher for his compassion and phenomenal care, the Palliative team at DMH, Paramed, the teams at St. Elizabeth, Helen Taylor, co-ordinator at DMH, Willwerth family, the CWL at St. George's, and the care given by the Williams Funeral Services.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Theresa’s memory can be made to CCS or Heart and Stroke.

There will be a private family service and burial.
