Morningstar, Robert Frederick
Passed away at home on July 25, 2024 in his 75th year. Bob Morningstar beloved son of the late Robert B. and Katherine Morningstar, special friend to Josie DeLazzari, loving brother of Diane (Bill) Hartman, Scott (Laura May Silvan) Morningstar, Colin (Mary Lou) Morningstar and Daniel (Nancy) Morningstar. Loving uncle to Jillian (Jamie) Grelowski, Amberly, Solana, Jocelyn Morningstar, Lindsay (Matt) Paonessa, Lauren Morningstar, and Chloe Morningstar. Loving Great Uncle to nieces Farrah Grelowski and Delilah Paonessa and nephews Hayden Grelowski and Julian Paonessa. Predeceased by his nephew Kevin Hartman and great nephew Titus Grelowski.
Bob was an esteemed member of the Rotary Club of St. Catharines Lakeshore and a partner of the Douglas, Morningstar & Bonin LLP law firm. He always had a great interest in the arts and had served on various arts committees or boards throughout his career, as well as participated in live performances as a choral singer (tenor) and actor. He was a proud "Paul Harris fellow" for many years as an active member of the Rotary Club of St. Catharines Lakeshore, as well as a member of the United Church of Canada, the Canadian Bar Association, and the Lincoln County Law Association. Bob travelled the world and always had a story to share or a recommendation on a new show or movie to watch. He was an avid gardener and spent many hours working on his gardens. He was a bright light, and will be greatly missed by his many friends, colleagues and family.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Juravinski Hospital who looked after Bob during his illness and Dr. Rajiv Balasuriya for all his continued care. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the St. John's Stevensville United Church would be greatly appreciated. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Funeral Services in Ridgeway, Ontario. A celebration of life will be held at St. John’s Stevensville United Church on September 14th at 11:00 am.
