Obituary of Mary MacKenzie

Mary MacKenzie (nee Kucera), a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on July 17th, 2024 at the age of 91. Predeceased by husband Allan, sisters Annie and Sue, and brother John. Survived by daughters Heather (Mike), Jessie (Dave), sons Donald (Belinda), Richard (Sandra) and Ken (Renee). Grandchildren: Anne (Tom), Joshua, Caleb (Courtney), Alison, Kayla (Sam), Levi (Gillian), Sarah, Jessica, Spencer. Great-grandchildren: Sawyer, Evelyn, Dallas, Anniston, George, Ivy.

Mary had a zest for life. She taught yoga until the age of 89. She enjoyed dancing, music, swimming and her garden.  She loved nature, especially bird-watching. Her family treasured her and her home cooking at the many gatherings for holidays and celebrations.  She enjoyed great conversation, a cold ale and a good laugh. Mary’s legacy was her family, and she will continue to live through all of them.
