Obituary of Lin Marianne Gillies

It is with profound sadness and much love that the family of Lin Marianne Gillies, mourn and announce the peaceful passing of a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She died on June 1, 2024, after her battle from cancer. She was 80 years young.

Lin was the heart of our home and family. Lin was married for 58 years to her soulmate, Peter John Gillies. Together they raised two children, Kristofer and Michele, in a happy and loving home to become independent and thoughtful adults. As a grandmother to Eric Gillies-Williams, his wife Debra and close family friends Kenneth Dunn, Brian Teixeira and William Silva, who cared for her during sickness, she will be sincerely missed. Notably dearly missed by her sister-in-law Jean Hardy of Vancouver, BC and niece Patricia.

Lin was known for her pleasant demeanor, kind heart, baking and art skills. Lin was 'Mom' to all of her children's friends. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed. At Lin's request, there will be no services, but before she passed she made it known she wanted us all to share a laugh and raise a glass in celebration of her journey home.
