Riel : Kenneth
Passed away suddenly at home on July 9, 2022 at the age of 68.
Adoring husband to Mary (nee. Lubberts), the love of his life and partner for over 50 years.
Proud father to Lesley (John) and Brian.
Cherished grandpa to Hunter, Kaylynn, Melody, Holden and Bentley.
Survived by his siblings Alva (John), Ray (Barb), Joanne (Richard) and Johnny (Lori).
Will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Predeceased by his mother Elizabeth and father Paul.
Ken was an Electrical contractor who served his community for 40 years as the owner of K. Riel Electric Ltd. and took great pride in his work.
He also served his community as a member of the Ridgeway Lion’s Club, Parent Advisory Council at RCBHS, board member at the Bertie Boat Club, and an executive of Ridgeway Minor Hockey.
Ken also spear-headed the construction of (and fundraising for) the Crystal Ridge Community Centre.
Ken was known for his gift of gab and will be missed by all his countless friends around the world.
Ken was an incredibly kind and generous man and had a passion for helping those in need. His philanthropy involved countless donations over the years, mostly made anonymously.
Ken’s greatest passion, however, was his family.
In lieu of flowers, Ken would much rather a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or any other charity/organization of your choosing. He’d also love for people to plant a tree.
Williams Funeral Services 722 Ridge Rd. N. Ridgeway entrusted with arrangements. The family will recieve friends on Wednesday July 13th from 2-4 and 6-8. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday morning at 11 o'clock. Services will be available live on the Funeral Home's Facebook site as well.
If you were ever touched by Ken’s kindness or generosity, please remember him by paying it forward.
