Obituary of David Charles Collison

COLLISON, David Charles

Loving Husband, proud father, caring brother and cherished son.  David Charles Collison went home to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on July 6th, 2022 after a year long battle with cancer. His faith is now sight.   David leaves behind his wife Jennifer (Gillespie), daughter Brianna, father Charles Collison, sister Kathie Putman, sister Brenda (Jochem) Korten, brother-in-law Ken Gillespie and many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by his mother Verna Collison and sister Laura Collison.  Dave served as a Deacon at Golden Harvest Baptist Church.  A great provider working 37 years at Hard Rock/Brennan Paving.  Dave loved hockey and participated in taking his nephews to their games and even coaching them along with his brother-in-law.  Undeniably the apple of his eye was his daughter Brianna, so he traded in the hockey skates for figure skates and in stead of coaching he took on the role of cheerleader.  He was a kind, gentle soul who was genuinely interested in people and made them smile with his unrelenting jokes and smart comments.  Dave really was loved by all who knew him.  Many thanks to St. Elizabeth’s home care, Douglas Memorial Hospital nurses and support staff and Dr Scher, who all went above and beyond the call of duty.  Their care and compassion for the loved ones in our community is second to none.  A visitation will commence on Saturday July 9,2022 from 9:30AM until the time of the service at Golden Harvest Baptist Church 3130 Point Abino Rd., Stevensville at 11 AM. Arrangements entrusted to Williams Funeral Services, 722 Ridge Rd N, Ridgeway (905 894 1161) Donations in memory may be made to the Building Fund at Golden Harvest Baptist Church goldenharvesttreasurer@gmail.com
