Obituary of Leonard Pasquale Aquilina
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Leonard Aquilina on June 9, 2021 at the age of 54. Loving father to Neil, Elaine (Steve) Benjamin and Winnie (Melissa) Opatovsky, and a grandfather to their children. Dear brother of Mario (Denise), Elio (Lisa), Mary and Dan (Monique) and uncle to his many nieces and nephews. Leonard is also survived by aunts, uncles and cousins in Canada, and abroad. Predeceased by his parents Sam (2008) and Maria (2012), as well as his wife Patty (2016). Friends and family of Leonard will fondly remember his infectious laugh and huge heart. Leonard will be remembered for his love of fishing with his son Neil, cooking his late mother’s Italian recipes, and for giving the shirt off his back to help whoever he could. Leonard pursued his interest in chemistry at a young age and attended Seneca College where he received his Chemical Laboratory Technician diploma. Leonard was successful in his career in the chemical/hazardous waste industry upon graduation, and was a loyal employee to Clean Harbors for over 30 years. Although Leonard was tragically taken from his loved ones far too soon, the family appreciates the continued support from his amazing group of friends as we grieve the loss of our beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle.
