Obituary of Sandra O'Hara

O’Hara, Sandra Jean, “Mom”, “Mama”, “Ma” It is with great sadness that we announce Sandy’s sudden passing on Monday, September 28, 2020, at the age of 68. Known to many as Mom, Mama, or Ma, Sandy held unconditional love for all those near and dear to her. She lived for her family, happy to spend time with them and always interested in what was happening in their lives. She saw the goodness in people and wanted the best for those she loved. Sandy was passionate about her gardens, spending countless hours tending to them after working long days in a greenhouse. She enjoyed many good times up north, loving the chance to have extended visits with family, relaxing, and fishing, and closer to home, going for long drives with no destinations. Sandy will be deeply missed by her loving and devoted husband, Jamie O’Hara. She was also the proud mother of Ray and Erin, and Laurie and Blair, and adoring grandmother of Adin, James, Owen, Lauren and Zachary. She will be sadly missed by her sister Laurie (Bob) Merlees and her brother Richard (Jane) Bates, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. And lastly, her faithful companion and little buddy, Bandit, will be lost without her. Sandy was predeceased by her parents, Yvonne Daubney and Gerald Bates and her sister, Rhonda Airhardt. Cremation has taken place. Due to Covid-19, a private family interment will be held at the Ridgeway Memorial Cemetery. If desired, donations in Sandy’s name may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
