Italo (Nonno) has been such an essential part of our family in such a short time. There wasn't a birthday, a holiday, a family dinner that did't include him. Our family and friends quickly became his family and friends and everyone loved him just as much as we do. Our door bell would ring daily (Nonno being the only person that ever rang our bell), and Paislee would run to the stairs to see Nonno peering in the window smiling, bringing her a pocket of candy or raisins. The endless pasta dinners, the countless bottles of wine, and the laughs...so many laughs. We love you Italo, and are so thankful for the memories!! Memories of our date night to the casino, the songs you would sing, and the Paco Rabonne swim trucks you loved to sport around in :)
You will never be forgotten xoxoxo

Italo and Mary were cherished library patrons for many years. They cried with us when we lost a colleague. They invited us to their home for dinner (and wine) several times. They didn't mind that we came in shifts as someone had to mind the library. Italo entertained us with music and stories. His laugh was infectious. Mary not only fed us but shared her recipes. I think of her when I make them for my family. Christmas always brought wine to the library for all of us to share with our families. They were both very proud of their children and grandchildren.
Rest in peace my friend. You are with your beloved Mary, now.

The best Slo-Pitch pitcher we ever had!! Always happy(maybe because he always had a bottle of his wine at the games). Lol

We met our dear friends, Italo and Mary as neighbours 23yrs ago and they quickly became our best friends. Our family was truly blessed to know them. Italo loved people and people loved him. He had the ability to have beautiful conversations with people from all walks of life and could relate to all generations. He had infinite wisdom and loved reading. He was young at heart and played baseball, golf and pickle ball frequently. He knew his neighbours well and treated them like family. Anyone was welcome at anytime! He loved cooking and passing on his Italian recipes and enjoying it with people with Italian music in the background. He was often the live entertainment at parties. We promise to keep his memory alive by passing on his love for people, wine and food to our friends and neighbours. RIP to our precious Bello! We can only imagine how beautiful your reunion with Mary is! Sincere condolences to the Desiri family!

Italo could walk into a room and with just his presence alone could brighten the mood of each and every person in it. Italo could do anything he put his mind too as well and nobody could ever tell him he couldn't do it because he’d prove them wrong. This gentleman had a love for fine food and had a gift for infectious laughter. He could be friends with children, teens, adults and seniors and everybody he came across he touched. Our Bello is finally reunited with his Mary...Cheers Bello and God Bless!

Our family will cherish the memories and friendship we developed with Italo as neighbours over the last several years. His lively words of encouragement and excitement for life he shared with us and our daughters will forever be remembered. His laughter...his wonderful and educational stories...his love of sharing time with great food and drink...his strong drive for maintaining friendships and good company...will never be forgotten. God bless and Rest In Peace.
