Obituary of Roland SCHAEFFER

SCHAEFFER, Roland- It is with great sadness and many fond memories that we mark the passing of Roland Schaeffer on December 25th, 2012 in his 83rd year. Those of you who knew him understand the loss we are experiencing. A devoted family man, he was the beloved husband of 63 years to Rejeanne, and loving father to JoAnne, Marieanne, Gary, Ron, Rick, and Henry. He was also a loving grandfather to 14 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his sister Marianne and brother Henry, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Rolly was employed for 35 years at Page-Hersey Works in Welland, where he worked as a labourer, then millwright and later as foreman. He always made time for camping and adventurous trips with his family. During retirement, he took trips further abroad with his family, and hosted family and friends for gatherings both quiet and boisterous on his hobby farm. Rolly also had an extensive woodworking shop, where he crafted beautiful family treasures. Join us for a celebration of life on Sunday, December 30th from 2pm to 4pm at Williams Funeral Home, 722 Ridge Road North, Ridgeway, Ontario.
