Obituary of Robert Forster

FORSTER, Robert - Lovingly known as "Dr. Bob", Robert D. Forster D.V.M. passed away suddenly on August 17th, 2019. Predeceased by his parents, Isabel (Flintoft) and Lawrence C. Forster, and brother William C. Forster. He will be sorely missed by his loving wife, Mary Catherine (Barclay/Woods) Forster. Beloved father of Robert R. Forster, Laura de Souza; Stepfather to John and Cheryl Woods; Grandfather to Emily, Conner, Rachel and Ainsley. Uncle to Michael Forster. Also, his 4 legged children Tavish, and past Panda, Teak, Squire, Alex, Marm, Cougar, OJ, Candy, Boots and Star Baby. Well renowned for the care of companion animals as a Veterinary Surgeon at Court Animal Hospital in St. Catharines for 30 years. A dedicated diagnostician, he was still practising as a locum even a few days before his passing. A long time member of the St. Catharines Business Club and Rotary Club. Emeritus Master of the Seymour Masonic Lodge, and a member of Palmer Lodge in Fort Erie. Recipient of the Scottish Rite. Well known for his gregarious laughter and smile, and avid duplicate bridge player. He will be missed by all family and friends too numerous to mention. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rotary Club, Shriners or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Bridgewater Country Club, 700 Gilmore Road, Fort Erie, on Saturday August 24th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A Masonic service at 2pm Saturday under the auspices of Palmer Masonic Lodge No.372 A.F. & A.M., G.R.C.
