Obituary of Henry Schaeffer

Henry Schaeffer - Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at Douglas Memorial Hospital at the age of 88, surrounded by his family and loving wife of 63 years June (Fox). Cherished father of Dale (Wendy),Lynn McGowan (Willie),Diana Rowe (Kelly) and David (Barb). Sadly missed by grandkids Kristie McGowan, Kevin McGowan (Jen), Jenine Rudyk (Joe), Steven Schaeffer (Ashley), Leanna Rowland (Tim), Megan Cudney (Seth), Rachel Rowe, Faith Schaeffer and Peter Lamoureux. Great-grandkids Kaelen, Kennedy and Wrenna. Survived by sister Marianne (Proveau) and sister-in-law Jean Schaeffer. Predeceased by seven brothers and sisters. Proud firefighter for many years and faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church. His huge smile will be missed by all. Very special thanks to Pastor Stefanik, Dr. Scher and the wonderful nursing staff at Douglas Memorial Hospital. Williams Funeral Services, 722 Ridge Road North, Ridgeway, has been entrusted with arrangements. Family will receive friends on Friday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A service to celebrate Henry's life will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 3837 Netherby Road, Stevensville, on Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Sodom Road, Stevensville. If so desired, donations to St. John's Lutheran Church or the Douglas Memorial Auxiliary would be appreciated by the family.
