Obituary of Arthur Emerson Fretz
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our father Arthur Emerson Fretz on February 23, 2019 at the Douglas Memorial Hospital in Fort Erie. Dad’s health had sharply declined after sustaining a fall in mid-December.
He is predeceased by his loving wife Charlotte, parents Russell and Minnie, sister Carol and brother Ted, who sadly passed away just one week ago.His children Brenda (Ken) Ingram, Irene Fretz (Scott Mallory), Judy Fretz and Katherine (Roger) Cull hope that Dad is now at peace with his Lord. He is fondly remembered by grandchildren Kyle (Julie) Mallory, Lauren Ingram, Sam Mallory and Olivia Cull who affectionately called him “Papa”. He also leaves behind sister Reta Beaulieu brothers Harold and Merv (Sheila), sister in law Ethel Baer and their families.
Dad was a 35 year employee of Provincial Gas, later Consumer’s Gas then Enbridge Gas retiring in 1989. He was a faithful member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and served as its treasurer. He enjoyed singing in the church choir. Other pastimes included golf, curling, gardening and weekly coffees with his best friend Harold Hampel.
Williams Funeral Services 722 Ridge Rd. N. Ridgeway entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Thursday February 28th from 2-4 & 7-9. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Friday March 1st at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church 245 Prospect Point Rd. N. Ridgeway with a reception to follow in the church hall. Cremation to follow with a private family interment to be held at a later date.
Our family greatly appreciates the loving care he received by staff and other residents a Garrison Place Retirement Home as well as from Dr. Che and the nursing staff at the Douglas Memorial Hospital. Donations can be made to the charity of your choice
