To Gail & all of Kevin's family
My deepest condolences on your loss. I graduated from the Seminary same time as Kevin. I had a few visits in Hamilton but then lost contact. Kevin was a truly great person, kind and gentle. Even his humour was gentle. He will indeed be missed pastorally and personally. My prayers are with you.

My deepest sympathies, Gail, Joshua, and Hannah as you feel the loss of Kevin. I am very sorry that we could not be with you today to share our sympathies in person and are very sorry for not trying to connect with all of you sooner after a long time apart. I am so grateful for Kevin's friendship with my wife Michelle during some very difficult times in her life and for all of the antics that they were able to get into as camp counsellors way back in the day, which they are probably re-living right now after being re-uinted with one another last week. I am also very grateful for the kind words that Kevin shared at her funeral, again, so many years ago now, and for your friendship as well after you were married. Our family shares in your mourning at this time and hope and pray that you are able to find comfort in your loving memories of him, today and always. We also wish to all of you that Kevin's memories always bring you a warm and loving reminder of his many gifts, which were a blessing to us all. Peace be with you as you journey and may God hold you all as you mourn.
Sincerely,
Paul, Lara, and Rebekah Doughty.

When I put my faith in Christ in the summer of 1981, Kevin (a friend of my younger brother) was the only other evangelical Christian student I knew in our high school in Sudbury (along with one of our Science teachers--Rick Shore--who also went to Kevin's church). Kevin was instrumental in encouraging me in my new faith, with his genuine compassion, quirky humour, and "maturity beyond his years". He and I got involved in helping start up a new 'coffee house' drop-in centre to encourage other youth and young adults in their faith journey. Had I not had Kevin in my life that first year alone in my trust in Christ among my family and friends, I'm not sure how long it would have been to get me started well. We reconnected a little on Facebook only 3 or 4 years ago, but never got to meet again in person. But I am sure I will be applauding joyously when all the followers of Christ are gathered around Him, and the Master steps forward and places a crown on Kevin's head and says "Well done, My good and faithful servant!". We'll see you soon, dear brother!!

I had the pleasure of getting to know Kevin through the Parent Involvement Committee. Kevin was incredibly welcoming to me as a newcomer, and always went out of his way to speak to me and make me feel welcome. His smile was infectious, and I am grateful I got to know him. May his family take comfort in knowing how many lives Kevin touched, and the lasting impact he had on the community which he served.

My deepest condolences to you all. Kevin was such a wonderful part of the Edgewood experience. I had the good fortune to work with him for several summers there and Edgewood would not have been the same without him. I consider myself blessed to have known him and will always remember those times fondly.

I recall Kevin as the Administrator, very kind, inclusive and approachable when I was an assistant DOC at a LTC home in Burlington. We talked about his connection to our mutual high school up North and the big reunion there. He is a great loss to our society.

Dear Gail, Joshua, Hannah, and Helen,
Kevin opened many hearts to God's grace and peace, including ours. I remember that most beautiful Kalevala Koru cross (Räisälän Hovinsaaren risti) which his mother gifted him. That cross is a symbol of hope and new life in Christ Jesus that does not know limits! May that hope carry you through these difficult days! Herran rauha olkoon teidän kanssanne!
