Obituary of Katherine McDonald
McDONALD, Katherine – It is with great sadness that the family of Katherine Isabel McDonald (nee Peacock) announces her passing at Maple Park Lodge, Fort Erie on Friday, November 9, 2018. Better known to her friends as “Kip” she passed at the age of 90 having lived a full and happy life. Born in Jarvis she moved to the Fort Erie area and became the Ridgeway-Crystal Beach High School Basketball Star. After graduation Kip went to Nursing School and began a 40 year career that she loved, especially her last years at Port Colborne Hospital. In 1953 Kip married James David McDonald. Together they worked and traveled across the majority of the United States, he as an engineer and she at the local Hospitals. Aside from her love of travel, Kip enjoyed bridge and a good game of golf. She loved the Arts and supported them with enthusiasm. Beyond all this, she was a wonderful and loving mother. She leaves her children; Karen McDonald, David McDonald (Sara) and Lesley Krieger. She will be missed by her grandchildren Meaghan, Karl, James, Ryan and Madeline and great grandchildren Errol and Addison. She was predeceased by her husband James McDonald and granddaughter Eileen Krieger. Williams Funeral Services, 722 Ridge Road N., Ridgeway entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive their friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 14th from 5-8 p.m. A service to celebrate her life will be held at All Saints Anglican Church, 149 South Mill St., Ridgeway on Thursday at 11 o’clock. If desired, memorial donations may be made to Maple Park Lodge Residents Council.
