Obituary of Shirley May Fretz
Shirley May Fretz passed away last night at 7:00 p.m. at the Niagara Falls hospital at the age of 81. She was admitted on Monday with complications as a result of her fight with Huntington’s disease. (Huntington's disease (HD), also known as Huntington's chorea, is an inherited disorder that results in death of brain cells. The earliest symptoms are often subtle problems with mood or mental abilities. A general lack of coordination and an unsteady gait often follow.) Her request was DNR as she has a home waiting for her with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. Today she is with Him. Shirley’s wishes of cremation will be honoured and there will be no funeral. You are, however, invited to join the family in a “Celebration of Life” at the Sherkston United Brethren church, 895 Empire Rd, Sherkston, ON on Saturday, October 6, 2018 with visitation at 1:00 p.m. a Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with a lunch afterwards. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be made to an upcoming missions trip. (Details to follow.) Her heart was for missions as she spent 19 years serving in Sierra Leone, West Africa as a missionary.
