Obituary of Catharine Jones

Surrounded by her family Cathy passed peacefully at the Douglas Memorial Hospital on August 10th, 2018 at the age of 75. Predeceased by her husband C. Rodney Jones and parents, Caldon and Margaret Clark. Proud mother of Brad (Kelly) and Jennifer (Peter). Survived by her brother Burt (Georgina) Clark and brother-in-law Bill (Sandi) Jones and her niece and nephews and families. After being in the Douglas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Cathy found her calling as a caregiver and returned to school to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse. She took pride in her ability to deliver care and comfort to her patien ts and their families for over 30 years at the GNGH Intensive Care Unit. Her community service included her time as a Ridgeway Lioness and United Way volunteer. She also enjoyed being a member of the All Saints Anglican Church family. Cathy loved the sense of community and fun she had with her Ridgeway By The Lake friends. Cathy also loved her time on the links at Cherry Hill and all winter in Florida. Cathy had a love of travel with Rod and the Vegas/Cruise friends in years past and more recently with her family and dear friends Bob and Maureen Cook. She also enjoyed her winters in Punta Gorda, Florida with her close friend and nursing colleague Muriel Sokach. Williams Funeral Services, 722 Ridge Rd. N. Ridgeway entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 14th from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at All Saint’s Anglican Church (Ridgeway) on Wednesday, August 15th at 11 a.m. If so desired, donations to All Saints Anglican Church, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Douglas Memorial Hospital Auxiliary directed to the Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated by the family. The family extends their appreciation to Dr. K. Scher and the outstanding staff of Douglas Memorial Hospital, the LHIN and Bayshore for the compassionate and dignified care provided to Cathy and to her own personal hospice care provider and stylist, Kristin House.
