Obituary of Donna Marion Friedrich

Friedrich, Donna Marion - It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Donna Friedrich on July 22, 2018, in her 91st year, at the Welland County General Hospital. Donna was born in Buffalo, NY, daughter of the late Herbert Saylor and Caroline Gamel. Beloved wife of Stephen Friedrich, their 61-year marriage was a true love story. Cherished mother of Susan (Michael) Therrien and Michael (Rosalia) Friedrich. Predeceased by her brother Edward Saylor and sister-in-law Helen Saylor. Dear sister of Betty (Arnold) Marr, Norman Saylor and Kathleen (Richard) King. Loving grandmother to Matthew (Lawren MacInnis) Therrien, Christopher (Kristen Rockey) Friedrich, and Nicole (Jordan Churchill) Friedrich. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, family and her dear friends from the Mack Training School for Nurses. Donna found her greatest joy in being a wife, mother and grandmother. She was the heart and soul of her family. She was filled with laughter and song, brought joy to all, held every hand, wiped every tear, and taught her family well that love and faith are the ties that bind us together. The family would like to thank the doctors entrusted with Donna's care, especially Dr. Daniel Lagrotteria and Dr. Alan Daniel and Dr. Hanmiah, as well as the kind and caring staff at Welland County General Hospital and the nurses from St. Elizabeth Health Care. Vigil Prayers and visitation will take place 7:00 – 9:00 pm Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Williams Funeral Home in Ridgeway. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. George Roman Catholic Church, 56 Ridgeway Road, Crystal Beach at 11:00 am Friday July 27, 2018 with reception to follow in the church hall. Private interment with immediate family will take place at a later time.
