Obituary of Florence Maytie Ervine

Florence Maytie Ervine passed away at the Douglas Memorial Hospital on July 2nd, 2018 at the age of 94. She will be greatly missed by her children Debbie, Dave (Pat) and Linda (John), as well as her granddaughter Carina. Maytie was predeceased by her husband Clem after 58 years of marriage, her siblings Vincent, Lawrence, Millie, Viola and Russell and her parents Flora and Wilson Teal. Maytie will be dearly missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Maytie lived her whole life in Ridgeway, as she very much enjoyed living where it was “peaceful in the country”. She enjoyed the farm life as a child, her job at Fleet during the war years, and bringing up her children and grandchild. She was an active member of People’s Memorial United Church, spent many years camping and having fun with “the gang”, and enjoyed travelling to warm destinations, the last trip being to Cuba at the age of 91. The family would like to thank Dr. Gleeson and Dr Awobem for their years of care, and the personal support workers who took such good care of Maytie in her final years. Williams Funeral Services 722 Ridge Rd N Ridgeway entrusted with arrangements. The family will receive friends on Thursday July 5th, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service will be held in the Williams Chapel on Friday at 11am followed by interment at Ridgeway Memorial Cemetery. If so desired, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society Canada.
